27/06/2016 - Brussels
Brazil is currently facing a historical political situation that has an impact on the bilateral business. The Impeachment process of Mrs Rousseff and the arrival of Mr Temer as Interim President mean important changes in the Brazilian Trade policy. Our Belgian Diplomats in Brazil are the first witnesses of these important political changes and are aware of the impacts on the bilateral economic exchanges. This summer, we will have also important Diplomatic moves for Belgium in Brazil, with the arrival of a new Ambassador in Brasilia and a new General Consul in Rio de Janeiro. Mr Jozef Smets and Mr Bernard Quintin are therefore closing four intensive years of Diplomatic work in Brazil and showed an extremely active and strong commitment to support the Belgian companies. They kindly accepted our invitation to meet the companies and give them their views about the current political situation in Brazil and about the impact for the bilateral business. Starting August 2016, Mr Dirk Loncke will be our new Ambassador to Brazil and Mr Jean-Paul Charlier, our new General Consul to Rio de Janeiro. We will have the great honour to receive them to start immediately a successful collaboration with the Belgian-Brazilian Business Network. PROGRAM
